Rail Power for E-Buses

Electricity from the railway's catenary grid is used to charge electric vehicles.

The existing energy supply infrastructure is used intelligently to avoid a short-term overload of the public grid.

But the solution is not only interesting for long-distance and regional rail transport: the overhead lines of trolleybus, trams or suburban trains in cities can also be used in this way. For example, an operator's electric buses can use the overhead lines of the tram to recharge at the depot at night - when most of the vehicles are parked anyway and do not need energy. During the day the overhead line network is used to operate the tram.
